MYSTERY surrounds a Sunshine Coast couple who have $1 million in their pocket after a win in Saturday night's Gold Lotto.
The pair purchased their winning “super quick pick” ticket from Bli Bli News.
Staff at the newsagency said they were yet to see or hear from the Coast's newest millionaires.
“It is very nice to have one of our shoppers win,” a staff member said yesterday.
A Golden Casket spokeswoman said the couple were “extremely private” but had made contact with their office after their numbers came up.
She said the couple were “over the moon” and would spend a little bit of time working out their next move.
The Sunshine Coast has received more than $5 million in winnings in various Golden Casket games in the past two months.
A Landsborough couple won $2 million with their lotto entry on February 9, and a Nambour couple picked up half that just one day later.
A Noosa Civic instant scratch-it win of $250,000 for the next four years saw another $1 million gone, while a trip to Tewantin proved a $100,000 winner for a Darling Downs resident.
A $250,000 prize was delivered to a shopper at the Duggans IGA store in Maroochydore.
The Golden Casket spokeswoman urged Sunshine Coast residents to make the most of the lucky streak in preparation for tonight's $30 million Oz Lotto draw.
“I may just come up to the Sunshine Coast to buy one myself,” she said.
