The Bachelorette's Ben: I'm surprised I got one rose

IRREPRESSIBLE Sydney tradie Ben Lyall wasn't disappointed by his elimination from The Bachelorette.

The 32-year-old said he didn't expect to make it past the first night of the reality dating show after admitting in his first conversation with star Georgia Love that he'd done "three nervous poos" before meeting her.

"There are a few things I don't remember saying or doing. I had to watch it again because as soon as my face came on all of my mates were cheering," he told APN.

"I could have potentially waited until the second night to tell her how many nervous poos I'd done, but if I can't have a bit of banter like that then she's probably not my type of girl.

"Looking back at the footage I don't think she was very impressed. I'm surprised I got one rose."

Before tonight's elimination Mr Lyall participated in a group photo shoot, where he felt out-shone by the other bachelors.

"We had to walk through this freezing cold dam and Courtney got to carry Georgia; I got to carry a bloody swag," he laughed.

"What you saw is pretty much how I am - an absolute, complete idiot. You've got to be funny with a head like this."

Mr Lyall said there were no hard feelings and he has high hopes for mates Matt D and Matty J.

"Someone's gotta go and she just liked someone else more than me; that's what I'm telling mum," he said.

"The Matts are both good blokes who have good values towards women."

A proud owner of two huskies, dog-loving Lyall is still single.

"I've been on a few dates. You've got to be out there to try and find her," he said. "I'm not in a relationship or anything serious."

The Bachelorette airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
